It is with immense pleasure that the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the Université de Montréal, in collaboration with MonISLA, welcomes you from October 1st to 4th, 2026, for a new edition of the Second Language Research Forum. We look forward to seeing you for four days of exciting exchanges, pedagogical innovations, and scientific discoveries in the heart of Quebec's metropolis. REGISTRATION FEES SPEAKERS Luke Plonsky Luke Plonsky , professor of applied linguistics at Northern Arizona University, is the author of over 100 publications and editor of renowned scientific journals. He is also an honorary professor at St. Andrews and a former Fulbright scholar. Sunny Man Chu Lau Dr. Sunny Man Chu Lau , Canada Research Chair in Integrated Multilingual Education, is a pioneer in translanguaging pedagogy and participatory action research. She is also an editor of scientific journals. Yuichi Suzuki Yuichi Suzuki is an associate professor in the Faculty of International Research and Education at Waseda University. He serves as an Associate Editor for Language Learning. His research focuses on the interface between theory and practice in instructed SLA and language education. Daphnée Simard Daphnée Simard is a professor in the Department of Linguistics at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her research interests include the role of individual cognitive and affective variables, as well as reflection about language in second language acquisition among various populations (children and adults). Véronique Fortier Véronique Fortier is a professor in the Department of Language Education at the Université du Québec à Montréal. The focus of her research is on the teaching of French as a second language to adult learners who are developing their literacy skills. Lara Bryfonski Lara Bryfonski is an applied linguist and associate professor at Georgetown University, where she researches second language acquisition and language teaching with a special focus on task-based language teaching (TBLT) and teacher education. Bianca M. Sandu and Sal Consoli Bianca M. Sandu is an assistant professor of English Philology at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Spain. Her research interests include language learning motivation and social action, lexical availability and semantic networks, and bilingual education. Sal Consoli is an assistant professor in Language Education and Director of Research Methods in Education at the University of Edinburgh.
